Summer Internships

My handsome soon-to-be husband (26 more days!!!) got the summer internship at Lockheed Martin!  We are so thrilled to already know our plans for the summer.  Luckily for us...summer break starts in 2 days!!!

Andrew and I are really looking forward to spending the summer in Colorado Springs where we will be close to my family.  We didn't care where we lived for the summer, just wanted a good job and close to family which is exactly what we got!  This will be our new home after the wedding & honeymoon!

Colorado & Bridal Shower

Andrew had a summer internship interview at Lockheed Martin in Colorado last weekend, so I of course went with him!  We had to catch a really early flight....hence why we look so tired in the picture!

So far we've been to St. George, Vegas, LA, Colorado, New York, Washington DC/Maryland, and Cape Cod (Massachusetts) together but have NEVER been on the plane with eachother so we definitely had to take a first picture!

It was fun to be back with my family again even though it was just for a few days, especially having Kel and Sky and my nephews there too!  Ethan and Teigan are the two cutest boys I have ever seen.  They are so happy and have so much energy ALL the time!  They really love and adore their soon-to-be Uncle Andrew! Does this picture not say it all?! Andrew is going to be such a great dad!

I told them to put their arms around eachother and this is what I got...so cute!!

Andrew had to get back to Utah Saturday morning for a lacrosse game that night, but I stayed and had my bridal shower!  {Thanks for throwing it, Nancy!}  We celebrated with delicious food and talking, fun games, and opening presents.  After being engaged since August, I can't believe the wedding is finally only a month away!

Love how the pineapple made 5/14 {wedding day!}

Love my sister!!!

I'm grateful for everyone who came and for all the wonderful gifts that were given to us!

My favorite!  I can't wait to be a Harding!!!

Today was the last day of classes! yipee!  Andrew and I are going to the Nuggets vs Jazz game tonight to see my Nugs whoop up on the Jazz! Thanks for the tickets Blake :)

Mrs. Harding!

I can hardly believe it but starting August 21st, I will be a 2nd grade teacher at Franklin Elementary!  I can't believe all the little kiddos will be calling me Mrs. Harding.  I love the sound of it :)

The interview process was really intimidating. I had to interview in two different rooms for 15 minutes each.  Sitting at the head of the table with atleast 5 different principals from the Provo School District plus the facilitators is just a little scary! Despite that, I felt like I answered all the questions really well and felt pretty confident after leaving.  I could hardly sit still for the rest of the day waiting until I heard if I had got the job or not!  Luckily for me, about 3 hours after the interview I got a call to see if I would accept the position at Franklin.  I am so excited for the fall!

To celebrate getting the job, I of course went out and bought some children's books for my classroom library!  I love buying new children's books!

Now we're just crossing our fingers that Andrew's job interview in Colorado for an internship this summer at Lockheed Martin went as well!

Engaged Life Lately

Andrew has been in Michigan all weekend for some lacrosse games, which is why I actually have time to blog! These last two weeks have been so busy for both of us.  I started my second practicum experience the beginning of March teaching 4th graders at Sunset View in Provo.  It has been so much fun teaching the little kiddos, even though it is so much work.  I stay up late every night planning and wake up early.  It is so worth it for the funny things the kids say.  Most of them call me Miss Perry (Katy Perry) instead of Miss Savage, ask for my autograph, sing me songs, and try to come up with funny jokes to stump me with.  I have loved every minute of it.  I am just so excited to be done after this semester, and look forward to having my OWN classroom!  I find out in less than 2 weeks if I will have a teaching job for next year.  So scary, but SO exciting!

Andrew wakes up every morning at 5 to go to lacrosse practice, practices for 3 hours, goes to school, goes to work, comes home and does homework, and then starts it all over again the next day!  I'm glad he still finds time in his busy schedule to hang out with me!!  Luckily, he put in his 2 weeks at work so he can have more time to focus on school.  He has done so well in lacrosse this season and the team is currently 8-2.  Even with our busy schedules, we made time to finally take our engagement pictures last Saturday. We've been engaged since August, and just now took our engagement pictures... a few weeks before we have to send out the invitations.  Procrastination at its finest.... Our photographer was awesome and got the pictures back to us in less than a week and was so fun to work with!  Here's some of our favorites from the shoot:

We're slowly checking lots of things off our wedding checklist!  I've had my dress for a long time, but I FINALLY found bridesmaid dresses I liked and got them ordered!  I feel so relieved after spending hours and hours looking for something I liked.  We are just so excited for May 14th to come!  Our 50 day countdown is almost here!

President's Day in California!

We had a great trip to California! The women took the town of LA by storm. Lauris and Dawn took the flight over from DC and I met them in LAX Airport. What. A. Disaster!!! The LAX airport has got to be one of the most discombobulated places ever.

We finally met up and got our rental car,  a sweet Ford Taurus (aka boat) which was extremely hard to park. After picking up the rental we took a cruise down to our hotel. As you can imagine...Warm, sunny, California beaches, sunglasses and tank tops....unfortunately none of those were needed. We arrived just in time for a weekend of cold rainy downpour. It was really unfortunate for the BYU Lacrosse team who had to play in the terrential downpour while we had the comfort of our umbrellas. The games were a lot of fun and BYU went 3-0 throughout the weekend.

During our stay we stayed at the Embassy Suites and although the views were nice, we were most excited about the amazing breakfast the hotel had every morning. The weekend was filled with a dismal drizzle until Monday which then turned  into the ideal California sunshine. We snuck Andrew away from the Lacrosse team for a few hours and took a drive down by the beach and stopped at a phenomenal pizza place called BJ's. I do not know if we have ever eaten so much delicious food in one sitting and then even topped it off with a massive pazookie!! Unfortunately we had to leave just as the sun began shining again but it was such a fun trip and we can't wait for next years California trip.
