Birthday Celebration

When we were engaged and picking the day that we wanted to get married, I was very hesitant about getting married May 14th because I knew I'd have my birthday on the 8th, when I become a mom I'd have Mother's Day around then too, and then our anniversary a few days later. Most people get spoiled 3 different times in a year and I would have them all in the same week!! May 14th was the only day that we could work with because we had to work around Andrew's lacrosse schedule so I said it was okay as long as they were never combined events! :) So now...May is my favorite month of the year because I have all those exciting things to celebrate!

My birthday started off not being the best day. I was still teaching and my little kiddos were feeling pretty checked out knowing that school was ending in 2 weeks. They were a little more chatty and just not behaving very well. Some of the kids were so sweet and brought me gifts though and some would tell the naughty kids that they needed to behave because they weren't giving me a nice birthday present by talking. I miss those sweet kids!

Sometimes during the school year if I woke up late I wouldn't have very much time to pack a lunch, so I would just put like 2 pieces of bread in a baggy and an grab an apple because I felt like having some bread was better than nothing! (and definitely better than eating school lunch...yuck!) When I sat down to eat some lunch, the bread was tasting so bad which was surprising to me because I usually love any and all types of bread! I thought maybe it was just because the kids were driving me crazy so I just didn't have much of an appetite, so I continued to eat the bread. Finally, after almost finishing the second piece of bread I looked down because it was still tasting bad and found the crust completely covered in mold! I felt sick to my stomach and was so disgusted that I hadn't noticed it sooner.

So gross.
So knowing that I ate bread that was covered in mold (no wonder it tasted so awful!) made me even more grumpy. How could I be grumpy on my birthday?! So when I went home I took a nap because I knew I wouldn't wake up grumpy. Luckily for me, Andrew always knows how to make me feel better and special. So we went to Olive Garden for my birthday dinner because I love their salad! Andrew surprised me by having beautiful flowers already set up on our table when we got there.

We stuffed ourselves real full this time! Andrew did so well with my birthday gifts. One day I put on a pair of Andrew's tennis shoes to take out the trash and I couldn't stop talking about how comfortable they were.  He remembered that and he got me the most comfortable tennis shoes I've ever had. They are so light and easy to run in. He also gave me a card full of cash so I can go shopping and get whatever I wanted :) He's so great!

So thanks to my wonderful hubby, I ended my birthday feeling happy and special and started the beginning of being 22 great!
