Aunt Kristen & Uncle Andrew

We heard Aunt Kristen and Uncle Andrew quite a bit this last week because our nephew Ethan came out with my dad and stayed with us for a few days. I was so happy to have him out here with us. When Ethan was just a little guy I lived in Vegas with them, so we've always had a great relationship. I love that he knows and loves his Aunt Kristen! It was great making more memories with him that he will maybe remember one day since he is older now. And it was fun seeing what parenthood will be like for us! :)

Since I was teaching summer school still, I brought him with me so he could go to the kindergarten group. He loved being at school and had a great time making new friends.
All ready for school!
Since summer school only went from 9-12, we made sure to really spoil him the rest of the day! First we went to Trafalga and went mini golfing and then played games in the arcade. It was so funny mini golfing with him because obviously he doesn't quite understand it all the way. He would run from hole to hole not really caring if he got his ball in the hole or not. I'm not sure if he liked the actual golfing more or looking at the fish they had in the ponds. Regardless, he looked like a little stud golfing!

climbing on anything he saw!
looking/trying to scare the fish haha

I had been telling Ethan for awhile before he came that we were going to take him to the water park. The night before we were going to go, I took him on a walk down to look at them. He was so excited. When I woke him up to get ready for school he told me he dreamt all night about going down the water slides. He was so excited that Andrew took him down to the pool on the scooter! So funny.

Unfortunately it wasn't too hot at the pool so poor kid was always freezing after getting off a slide!
He absolutely loved going down the slides on the tube. He screamed and laughed the whole way down! Right when we got off he would say "Let's do it again!!!"
We love this kid so much!

Can't have a pool day without Dip n Dots!
Even after being worn out from being at the Water park all day, he still wanted to climb any and every tree we saw while walking home. He sure has a lot of energy!
Cutest little monkey!

After seeing how much Ethan loved the water park, I wanted to take him to a different splash park. Luckily it was in the 90s so Ethan never got cold and loved every minute of it.

He had so much fun

He kept showing me this move how he swims like a fish haha
93 degrees and swimming for hours will do this to you! I don't hear this often from Ethan but he came up to me and told me he needed to rest for a minute. Definitely not like him :) Even though he was practically asleep, he didn't want to leave yet!
I promise we fed him healthy food too...not just ice cream!

Ethan's last night I told Andrew that he should go get the mini cooper and take Ethan for a ride because Ethan thinks they are Monster's Inc cars. Ethan got his shoes on while Andrew went up to get the car. I waited outside with Ethan and wondered why it was taking Andrew longer than usual to come pick him up. When he came down, he had Monster's Inc music blaring out of the car. It was so funny!! Ethan was so excited. He had the biggest smile on his face. Andrew is seriously the best. I would have never thought to do that. Ethan is lucky to have such a fun uncle and our kids are going to be the luckiest to have the best and most fun daddy! And I'm so lucky to have him. :)

Uncle Andrew let him poke his head out of the sunroof!
Ethan got so spoiled and had so much fun that he didn't want to leave! I asked him what shoes he wanted to wear on the airplane and he said he wasn't going. We had to take them to the airport at 3:30 AM. It was a little mix of waking up so early and not wanting to leave but he threw a fit when I told him he had to get out of his PJs and get dressed. He cried and cried and saying he just wanted to stay for a minute! haha. We sure do love you Ethan. We had so much fun with you! You make us laugh so much. We can't wait for you to come back out in August but with Teigan! We miss you already!!

Randoms

Since we aren't the best bloggers...we always seem to be behind! This post is just full of random things we've been up to in the last few months!

In May, we went to Andrew's lacrosse awards banquet. I was a proud wifey as Andrew received so many awards!

Andrew and Ted sportin their championship rings from last season!
last year's national champ ring! So huge!

Every year my school does a 5K fun run the last week of school. All students are encouraged to participate and even teachers and parents. I told my students that I would run it with them because I want them to know how important physical fitness is. Turns out I got 1st place for female adults. Woo hoo! My kids were so proud of me. I even got a medal at our assembly :)

After a year of using our landlord's double bed, we decided it was time to use grandma's wedding present to us and get ourselves a great new mattress. We haven't really done furniture shopping before and didn't really know what to look for. Luckily the guy who helped us was really helpful and helped us pick the perfect mattress! We were so excited as you can tell from the picture! They gave us 20% off if we drove the bed home ourselves, hence the ghetto picture with the mattress on top of our car! ha ha
It took some getting used to. Our backs hurt for about a week straight but now it is so comfy and we love it!

Summertime is perfect for BBQing. However, we don't really have a porch to put a BBQ on...so we had to buy a little mini BBQ :) It's perfect for just the two of us though! It's pretty funny watching Andrew grill on it though because he has to pretty much sit on the ground to cook it. We have been loving cooking outside in the warm weather though.

My brother, Jordan, moved in with us for the summer so we've been having lots of fun together. I'm glad we are so close!

We bought the pass of all passes to have unlimited access to Seven Peaks Water park. We have been spending lots of our summer days relaxing at the pool. With the pass we also can go to Trafalga and mini golf, go-kart, batting cages, etc. It's been a lot of fun!
Trafalga fun
The best part of being a teacher is having the whole summer off! I have loved it. I taught summer school for a few weeks but now have the rest of it off. Andrew doesn't start work until August so we have been able to relax and spend lots of time together everyday. We're just living the life! :)

LAX National Championship in SC

It's hard to believe Andrew finished his last season of lacrosse in May. It's been such a huge part of our life together that it almost seems weird! I've been to almost every one of his games over the last 3 seasons and now it's over. It's definitely bitter sweet for Andrew. He no longer has to wake up at 5 A.M. to go to practice everyday and he doesn't have bumps, cuts, and bruises all over his body anymore but he loved playing.

The national championship was held in South Carolina this year from Monday-Saturday. Unfortunately I was still teaching, so I couldn't go to the first two games. I was just hoping they would win both games so I could at least see him play one last time. The games were pretty close in score at times and hard for me to just read the twitter updates, but they ended up winning both! I flew out there on Wednesday and met up with my mother-in-law and grandma-in-law. They are the best lax trip roomies! The team played CSU on Thursday night. Unfortunately we lost to them in the semi-finals but I was just glad I was able to see Andrew and the rest of the team play one last time. It was pretty sad, but Andrew was a good sport about it. I went over to him after the game and said I was sorry and he said it's okay because he has a great life ahead of him. "Great wife and a great job to look forward to". He is so great!

loved watching these boys play together

Andrew and Elliot--the man who takes credit for Andrew and I being together! Thanks Elliot :)

taking one last shot on the field

Since they lost on Thursday night, we had Friday and Saturday to kind of do whatever and explore South Carolina.  So Friday Dawn, Lauris, Andrew and I went up to hike the Whitewater Falls. It was so pretty!

Saturday we went shopping and to a delicious Mexican restaurant that Andrew's grandma and grandpa used to go to all the time.  Then we went and had a team picnic at a park that night.

sure love this man so much!

And of course when you have lots of guys together this is something they would do...find a turtle and feed it some dinner.

It was a nice little break from school and it was even better knowing that when I got home I only had 1 more week of teaching before summer vacation! I'm so proud of Andrew and all of his hard work over the many years he played lacrosse. He is such a stud!

One year anniversary

It is so hard to believe that we have already been married a year! This year went by so fast. It's fun to look back on the year on all of the fun things we have done together and accomplished. Being married is seriously the best thing ever. There's nothing better than getting to come home from a long day of work to each other, falling asleep and waking up together everyday and always having someone to rely on. And I fall more and more in love with Andrew everyday. Sometimes I find myself just looking at him wondering how I got so dang lucky.

We have so much fun together. There wasn't a better match for me than Andrew. Since we had to work around lacrosse again this year, we had to celebrate early because Andrew was going to be in South Carolina for the national championship this year. If you know Andrew, he loves to golf....so even though it was a little pricy I got him a golf season pass. Luckily I worked out with the manager a way to get the season pass for half price!!  I got this for him mostly because it's kind of his last summer before he starts working full time and he won't ever have this much time to go golfing. He's been having fun going with my brother after their classes during the week. It's been fun going with them a few times. Usually I just do a few holes and then drive the cart around!

Andrew got me this awesome new camera that has wifi so I can just upload pictures directly from the camera! It's quite the upgrade from my last camera that lasted me the last 3 years. I'm grateful to be married and sealed to Andrew for eternity! Can't wait to celebrate many many many more anniversaries with him!
