Cape Cod August 2013

Our last hurrah of the summer was going to Cape Cod with some of Andrew's family for a week! Andrew's family has been going there every summer since he was a little kid so it's fun to go and do some of the traditions they've been doing for years!  We hadn't been back to Cape Cod since 2010 when we were dating, so it was even better this time actually being part of the family :) We lucked out with great weather for most of the week too! Andrew and I are still trying to figure out how we can get a vacation house out there...

The beautiful house we stayed in right on the water--thanks to John & Rach!

Me & Mikes first morning on the lake
spent lots of time lounging

Anyone who knows Andrew knows that he always has to be moving or doing something! We were going nonstop the whole first day! Playing soccer, whiffle ball, swimming, etc. It was nice to go cool off in the lake after all the nonstop sports activities we were doing!

cooling off in the water :)

pushing Addie in the swing! We were so glad we got to spend time with our darling darling niece and nephew!

You can't go to Cape Cod without going to 4 Seas Ice Cream....in fact I think we went 4 or 5 times :)

Andrew unfortunately had to make the 3 hour drive back to Springfield during the week to work and didn't come back until Thursday. The rest of us spent lots of time lounging, playing in the water, and eating lots of snack food. That's what you do on vacation right?!

my little diva mini-me!

When Andrew came back the weather turned pretty ugly and rained a lot. We spent the day getting new jewelry, eating at Moby Dick's and playing games inside.

double date with our boys!
finally getting my Cape Cod bracelet and ring to match! :) All the Hunter/Harding ladies have this matching bracelet. When I came in 2010, Andrew said I couldn't get one until I actually became part of the family!!

The family always goes to Moby Dick's to eat every year at Cape Cod. The salmon never disappoints.

a few empty spots for the family members missing :(
Andrew feeding Addie french fries with his lobster haha
loved loved loved getting to snuggle this adorable boy.
During the storm, Andrew took Addie out to take a Polar bear plunge....except Andrew was the only one to get in the water! I don't blame Addie for not wanting to get in. It was freezing!

We were so sad when the week came to an end because we won't be seeing all the fam again for awhile. It was such a fun vacation!! Thanks John and & Rach for renting the house!!

Sweet Summertime

We've had such a fun summer so far! Now I have a working man so it's not quite as fun as last summer when neither of us had to work and we spent all day every day together, but we've had lots of visitors and have loved getting to spend time with family! Unfortunately it will be ending in just a few weeks :( Somehow it always seems to go way too fast.

First visitor was D-Liz. It was far too short of a visit but we loved having her here with us! We had to take her to hike the Y since she had never done it before.
made it to the top!
These boys love to golf. We are just missing Jord.

We also got to spend a couple days with Beans. He treated us to delicious dinners and movie and spent a fun night at the arcade together.

Bryant loooooves when Andrew gets home! He gets so excited because he knows some head wrestling and playing tug o' war with the rope is in store!

seriously though?!? This guy melts my heart. The absolute cutest!

enjoying a night at the arcade together

Unfortunately our 4th of July was spent at the pet hospital with bry guy. The night before his body was shaking and his right hip seemed to hurt him every time we touched it. He wouldn't look at us and kept whimpering. It was so so sad to see him like this. The next morning he acted the same way so we took him in.

They tested him for lyme disease and it wasn't that so they thought he had hip dysplasia which would have been awful. They gave him some pain meds to help him out. We had to take him back a few days later for x-rays and luckily he didn't have that! He just must have tweaked his hip exercising so we had to take it easy for about a week or so.

The rest of our day was spent napping and snuggling our boy who was in so much pain!
he pushed me right off the bed!
After a delicious BBQ, we went to the lacrosse fields again this year to watch the Stadium of Fire firework show. The fields are great because you can see so many different shows going on in the valley. It was incredible! The cherry on top was having the perfect weather for the 4th of July.

Our next visitors were my DARLING nephews and mom! We had the best week with them. Our house has never been so loud before (besides when Michael is over and talking....hahahah. loudest voice! love you mikes) These guys are little fishies. Seriously they love swimming! I couldn't believe that not even Teigan needed a life jacket!! We spent so many days at Seven Peaks and they had a blast!

best friends! getting so big
love these boys with all my heart <3
playing at the park every night!
How cute is this picture?! Ahhh I love seeing Andrew with kids! The boys loved going to the park right by our house.

coolest uncle making brownies with E
On an overcast day we took the boys to the Salt Lake City zoo. It was great because it wasn't too hot.

We took this picture for Teig who loooves his silky blankets!

I love the age of these boys because they are actually interested in movies and can sit through the whole thing and enjoy it. We saw Despicable Me 2 and Monsters University. They were laughing out loud the whole time during Despicable Me. It was the cutest thing ever. They enjoyed Monsters University but didn't laugh out loud. After the movie Ethan said, "I didn't laugh once!" ha ha.

both boys cheesin so hard!

Teigan seemed a little bit more scared of how big Bryant was, but slowly got used to him throughout the week, but Ethan especially loved Bryant! Always petting him and giving him hugs.

so cute!

Ethan and Teig were always drawing pictures in the car. Ethan gave me this picture and I about died. I love how he spelled his name and even drew the red collar bry has! It makes me excited to teach 1st grade after spending time with him!

Of course these boys were spoiled rotten with yummy food and treats. Isn't that what aunts and grandma's are for?!

We put off hiking the Y until the last day and of course the hottest day! It was 2:00 in the afternoon when we started and 97 degrees. I never heard Teigan really complain while hiking, but Ethan kept saying he was so tired and that his legs hurt and he couldn't go any farther. It was cute because Teigan took like a 10 minute nap in the car on the way to the Y so Ethan kept saying he was more tired because he didn't get to nap in the car haha. We had to keep telling them that we could see the next sign, to take little steps and that we would get a snow cone and then they were fine. We made it and they couldn't believe it! They thought it was the coolest thing ever.

Then the day came that they had to leave and Andrew started traveling. It was a sad day after having them with me all week! Having Andrew travel is hard (and it's only been 3 weeks!!!!) But we both know it is the best for his career. We just try to make the best out of the 3 days we have a week together.
our first lonely night!

so glad I have this guy to snuggle with and keep me company while Andrew is gone
Next fun thing this summer: buying 2 new SUV's!!!! We both had great cars before the new ones, but we had to decide if we wanted to keep them and pretty much use them til they die or sell them while they still had low miles and were worth something. So that's what we decided to do. Andrew did lots of research, test drove the Mazda CX-5 during lunch and loved it. We went back that night and loved them. We offered them our price for the cars, and after so much negotiation we finally thought we were set on the price. Then the guy came back and said oh nevermind my general manager didn't know it was that year and model. He won't give you that price and blah blah blah. So we walked out! We were buying 2 cars for crying out loud and the guy wanted to save like 1,500?! Wow. So Andrew contacted several other dealerships in Utah. One dealership in Bountiful agreed to do the deal we wanted so we were planning on going up there. The Orem dealership found out and then offered us the same deal again ha ha. We decided to go through Orem for location convenience and also because we get free car washes for life there! Anyways, we love the new cars. I got the white with tan leather interior and Andrew got black with black leather. It was funny buying the same car :) They kept getting confused with the paperwork haha

twinsies!

After a check up with the vet, the Mazda dealership was really close so I decided to go get a car wash....not knowing Bryant is terrified of them. I wasn't too happy to look back and see him trying to crawl over on the brand new leather!!!! haha I had to crawl in the back, put the seat down and then he came and put his head right next to me panting so hard. I guess I'll remember next time not to bring him!!
Andrew turned 25 last week! Can't believe how old (not really but we feel like it!) we are getting and I love where our life is taking us. Andrew wasn't home on his actual birthday, so we celebrated early by going out to Tucanos and had home made ice cream cake for dessert.

We both love the birthday boy so much!

Overall it's been a great summer and I'll be sad when it ends. I'm already starting to get the beginning of school year nightmares!

In a few days we are headed to Cape Cod for a family vacation with the Harding family! Can't wait to see the siblings and little kiddos and spend time on the beach!
