Disneyworld with the Hardings--Christmas 2016

For Christmas, my mother in law gifted the family with a trip to Disneyworld! We rented out 2 cabins on the Disney property so we could all fit. Unfortunately last minute Andrew wasn't able to come because he had to go on a business trip :( But I still went and had a blast anyways. We also missed Michael and Tiff who went to visit her family in Hawaii.

We got to Florida late afternoon and went swimming at the resort pool and then went to the Chip n Dale show.

The next morning we woke up super early to ferry to the park since we had early access. My mother in law made us all matching shirts that turned out cute! Sure love this family I married into!

 ^ Addie girl--my riding buddy!
After the firework show, we hurried over to Space Mountain since it wasn't very crowded. I actually kind of forgot how fast of a ride it is and was kind of scared for Addie since I couldn't see her but she was so brave and had so much fun!

gotta love Splash Mountain!!

It was such a fun few days and I'm glad we were able to go make memories all together! Nothing like seeing the magic of Disney through little kids' eyes.  Now we just have to go back in a few years when our little girl is old enough to enjoy it :)

Christmas Ski Trip--Whistler 2016

I had to work Christmas Eve and Christmas night this year, so Andrew and I gifted each other with a ski trip to Whistler, Canada the beginning of December to celebrate instead! It was such a lovely 5 days together. Traveling is the best and the views were incredible. I can see why Whistler has been rated #1 ski resort in North America for the last 3 years in a row. I loved walking around the ski town with music playing and seeing all the snow capped trees and Christmas lights and decorations. Christmas season is the best and truly makes me so happy!

The first night we flew in to Vancouver and got there late so we spent the night in a hotel there and headed to Whistler by bus later the next day. When we woke up we went to the waterfront in Vancouver and had a delicious brunch at De Dutch Pannekoek which was so good. Had to make a note of the restaurant so we can go back if we ever are there again. The pancakes are thinner than US pancakes but a little thicker than crepes--sooooo good. We tried to make them when we got home but unfortunately it was a fail haha they did not turn out great. After brunch we walked around Robson street and did some shopping before heading back and catching the bus. We got to Whistler around 4:30 in the afternoon, unpacked and then headed to the village to eat dinner and explore the shops. We got pizza from the Avalanche pizzeria and topped it off with Cows Ice cream. I don't know what it is about skiing that makes you just want all the comfort food! We were staying in a suite so we also stopped by the grocery store to pick up some breakfast foods for the next few days. When we got back we went down to the hot tub and sauna and then came back and watched the Holiday! Such a great day.

The next morning Andrew woke up and made us eggs, toast, and a smoothie for breakfast before hitting the slopes. Have I ever mentioned how lucky I am to have Andrew? He spoils me and does 90% of the cooking in our family! I married up for sure. It was a blue sky beautiful day on the mountain, not much more you could ask for. We stayed there all day and had lunch at the lodge. We hadn't been skiing for 2 years so we were pretty sore by the end of the day as you can imagine haha. I had 2 pretty bad falls that hurt! One guy ran into me and I fell so hard right on my tailbone! When we came back to the hotel, we warmed up by the fire and took a little nap before dinner. When we were walking around we stumbled upon a candy store, so obviously we each had to get a bag. Reminds me of traveling with my dad who always would stock up on candy haha, no complaints there. We went to Peaked Pies which I most definitely recommend to anyone who goes to Whistler. It was the best meat pie ever!!

Our ski passes were for 3 days straight, but the next 2 days were a little colder so it wasn't quite as enjoyable as the first, but that's kind of expected when you ski in December! We did some fun runs and Andrew taught me how to carve better toe side so I don't get scared on narrow runs lol. Every day we'd get back to the hotel and be sore and exhausted but all in all it was such a fun trip together and hopefully we can make it back out to Whistler someday! Next on our list is skiing the Swiss Alps in Switzerland because those mountains are to die for.
